Artist: Led Zeppelin
Title: Physical Graffiti
Label: Swan Song
Number: SSK 89400
Sleeve Condition: Outer sleeve is excellent/mint, all windows are perfect. Inner window track listing insert is excellent (as can be seen from the photo it's not whiter than white, though I don't know if it ever was), inner sleeves are excellent/mint
Record Condition: Both excellent.
Other information: Side 1 has SSK 89400 A1 on the run off, side 2 has SSK 89400 B5 on the run off, side 3 has SSK 89400 C2 on the run off and side 4 has SSK 89400 D1 on the run off. The text on the spine is red. Cover has “Swan Song / 484 Kings Road, London SW10 printed on the back. Only original 1st pressings have this, later ones are printed in Germany on much thinner card. Inner window track listing has spine at the bottom and is thick card, smooth on the outside and textured on the inner (again only found on an original 1st pressing). Inner heavy duty sleeves have SSK89400A/B printed at the bottom. Labels have “Made in UK” at 9 o’clock and NO Warners logo at 3 o’clock
All records are from my personal collection. All have been played in the past however I have not had the ability to play them for around 20 years so condition is based on visual inspection only (please bear this in mind if bidding). When I was an avid LP buyer I had top notch hi fi equipment and my records were all stored in protective sleeves. If any vinyl was released with cardboard inners they were transferred to protective inner sleeves and the original cardboard inner stored elsewhere.
As a guide I’ve used the ratings below, most of which, bearing in mind I can’t play them, has been taking from the Record Collector Magazine Grading Guide.
Mint – Immaculate. No visible marks on the record or on the cover and contents
Excellent - A few light surface marks only. They should not be audible, although some crackle is possible during quieter passages The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good - One or two heavier marks that may be audible. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
FAIR - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler..
