Album Details & History
Recording: The album consists of eight new songs recorded in early 1974 at Headley Grange. To fill the double-album format, the band added seven unreleased tracks from earlier recording sessions dating back to 1970.
Commercial Success: It was the first album to go platinum on advance orders alone. It reached #1 on the Billboard 200 for six weeks and has since been certified 16x platinum in the U.S..
Signature Songs: "Kashmir" is often cited by the band and critics as one of their definitive works, featuring eastern-influenced orchestral rock.
