Description

An original very 1st press of PG on the UK Swan label. Matrix A1/B4-C1/D1 . Note how the labels are consistent with 1st issue and do NOT exhibit the Warners logo in the perimeter text. Why are the earliest copies worth going for? Apart from being just that bit closer to the original masters they were pressed just a tad heavier. And that does make a difference! The vinyl comes housed in an original die-cut Cullderstead cover. We also have both original thick-card inner sleeves. Now, i'd estimate that these two inners are from around 1 year after 1st release. The reason I've swapped them [IN] is that the inners this LP came in were flimsy. These two might be just slightly later, and a slightly lighter hue, but - importantly - they are solid card and decent quality. And there's the internal white credit sheet by Gothic Printers. So, it's all there..100% complete. Only the Inners are not [technically] absolute 1st issue.
Vinyl (Ex-/Ex) [D1/D2] In very nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few light marks per side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just a couple of deviations per disc. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Powerful audio with bags of integrity. The upbeat numbers play superb, but this copy can deliver those low-key moments nice and clean too....the slow-builds etc [e.g. THE LIGHT]. The only things I could take issue with was... the first half of DYING. I'm getting a bit of light static - nothing awful it just doesn't play as clean as the rest of the LP. I picked up a click in the opening to [TEN YEARS GONE]. Other than that nothing more than a few crackles in one or two isolated spots. It's a really superb copy - and absolute 1st press. Highly recommended. 
Cover (Ex-) In excellent order and is still looking rather impressive. The die-cut window openings are in excellent order with no scuffing or wear. Surfaces front and back are really well preserved [much better than you typically find]. Overall the box shape seems to be very nicely intact with very good rigidity. The spines are really nice looking with minimal wear - this is unusual. All text fully legible. A beautiful example.
Inners (Ex) Structurally excellent with no splits and precious little wear. 
Insert/Credit Sheet (Vg+) Nice - but a few age spot blemishes.
