Description
An original 1st press of PG on the UK Swan label. Matrix A1/B4/C1/D1 - very 1st press. Please note, importantly, there is no Warner Brothers logo apparent in the perimeter text - as per the early copies. The vinyl comes housed in an original Cullderstead cover. Also included is the white window interior card printed by 'Gothic Print Finishers'. Then there's both the heavier-card inner sleeves. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) In fantastic condition and has clearly only seen very light use. Just take a look at those label shots these copies are super low-mileage. Zoom into the spindle holes and you'll see that there are the signs of the original waste wax still present. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. A beautiful player and certainly one of the best examples of PG I've witnessed. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with prefect clarity with only one exception. Interference is pretty much non-existent. We are talking clean through practically all sections...complex passages and the slow-build ultra-quiet sections. I'll do my usual catch-all you may detect a couple of crackles in an isolated moment per side. And the only deviation is a few very-light ticks in the intro to 'In The Light'. Fairly short lived and gone as soon as the vocal begins. You would probably barely notice them but for the fact it's a super-low key passage. If you're looking for a close on perfect rendition of this sought after very 1st press do give this copy due consideration.
Cover (Ex) In great shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. Lovely clean front and back with hardly any wear around those die-cut windows - it really looks very nice indeed. There's a touch of edge wear in places, but it looks way better than most examples that surface. The spine is exhibiting one or two slight patches of wear and most of the text is more or less legible. Overall the box structure of the cover seems very nice and intact. A lovely all round specimen.
White Card Track Listing (Ex-) Light foxing in places. But overall very nice condition.
Inners (Ex) No splits. very nice indeed. 1c.m. wear patch [not wear-through] spotted once on each inner.
