The soundtrack to Led Zeppelin's landmark concert film, The Song Remains the Same captures highlights from the band's amazing 3-night stand at Madison Square Garden in 1973. Newly remastered, remixed, and expanded with six previously unreleased historic performances – "Black Dog" (including "Bring it on Home"), "Over the Hills and Far Away," "Misty Mountain Hop," "Since I've Been Loving You," "The Ocean," "Heartbreaker" – this enhanced version beats every aspect of the 1976 original. The differences are profound: You will hear this as if you've never heard it before.
Much of the improvement is due to the astounding sonics. Half-speed mastered and cut by the legendary Stan Ricker, and supervised by the band, these LPs dramatically better the musical presentation. While the original suffered from a distant perspective and dry tones, this reissue explodes with liveliness and detail. The Song Remains the Same sounds like a completely new record.
