This was a ground-breaking release when it first came out many years ago. This is the original version, that has been re-released in various different forms since then. There are quite a few inaccurate song listings online for this album. This is the original release of the Physical Graffiti sessions. (No live tracks and no Bombay tracks included.) Some songs are played several times, and others are just fragments. My favorite part is the song called "Take Me Home" which is an early version of the song "In The Light" with different lyrics. Here is the most accurate review that I could find online for this album....

"Tangible Vandalism" is a collection of studio out takes and in some cases Zeppelin home recordings, so there is a variable differences in sound quality. The best tracks soundwise are the overdubs. "Custard Pie" is what Jimmy heard in his headphones while he did his guitar overdubs and solos. "The Wanton Song" is said to be from a rehearsal during the 73 tour. "10 Years Gone" sounds like Page in his house as he's working out the melodies (some real behind the scenes stuff! ) - love when he double tracks his guitar in what amounts to be the skelaton and germation of this song structure. Another Page home tape is "Bron Y Aur" in which you can hear a baby in the background and some low singing. The same can be said for "Down By The Seaside" with addition of Robert Plant and has a Neil Young feel to it. "Kashmir" is the original studio take of Bonzo and Page jamming that was probably played to Plant and Jones as the skeleton of the song without all the overdubs. "Swan Song" or later called "Midnight Moonlight" is by Jimmy Page in the studio working on a piece he brought from home not knowing if it was going to end up as an instrumental (and some 13 years later the track did get lyrics). "In My Time Of Dying" is great, as you can hear Bonzo explaining to Plant about the song and beats involved -- Bonzo knowing his stuff by explaining the difference between "In My Time Of Dying" and "Black Dog" advising Plant that he's off by half a beat. Elsewhere there are some studio jams like "Sick Again" that have some lyrics and the "Rover" intro.

I bought this album about 25 years ago. This was my second copy, because I wore the first one out! I might have played this once or twice back then. It has been stored upright in a plastic outer sleeve since then. The photos might show some dust that should clean off easily, but I can't find my record cleaner right now.

Grade (record / sleeve)

VG+ / NM .... Just a couple surface scuffs. This is the first album cover that I have graded NM, keeping in mind that a new LP in the store will usually have some tiny dents on the corners. In original Shrink wrap. Artwork looks great!

All records visually graded. I use the following grading system, based on the Goldmine Grading System....

• Mint = New, unplayed.
• NM = Top grade for a used, excellent condition record.
• VG+ = Average grade for a really nice record, still glossy, possibly a few minor scuffs.
• VG = Some deeper scuffs or light scratches.
• G = Obvious wear.
• Fair = Will probably play OK on most turntables.
• Poor = Bad.
