General Information This 12-inch vinyl LP record includes Led Zeppelin’s iconic fourth recording that helped cement their rise to the top of the rock heap in the early-70s. The high-fidelity stereo sound quality of this release is sure to impress any music lover that savors the music from the legendary Led Zeppelin. The record label is Atlantic Recording Corporation and the record is a first pressing that was released in 1971. The catalog number is SD 7208. This 1st pressing is one variant of a large number of variants that were pressed at the Presswell Records Manufacturing Company’s pressing plant located in Ancora, NJ. The indication on each side’s record label and the indication on each side’s runout are as follows (respectively): Side One: ST-A-712285 PR and ST-A-712285-E AT/GP PR PORKY; and Side Two: ST-A-712286 PR and ST-A-712286-E PECKO DUCK AT/GP PR. The “PR” is indicative of the pressing of the record being performed at Presswell. The “AT/GP … PORKY” and “AT/GP … PECKO DUCK” are indicative of the parties responsible for the mastering using vinyl lacquer cut technology, i.e., at Atlantic Studios by George Piros (mastering engineer), including Side One by George Peckman (aka Porky), and Side Two also by George Peckman (aka Pecko Duck). The names of the songs for each side can be found in the photos. The album cover for this particular release includes an outside gatefold image (including the man with the bundle of sticks on his back) and an inside gatefold image of “The Hermit.” Notably, there is no printed text anywhere on the album cover. The record includes the original custom gray/brown inner sleeve for the record with the song listing, credits, and lyrics for Stairway To Heaven. The album has always been stored in a climate-controlled environment within a smoke-free home and will be shipped through USPS Media Mail.      
Condition Details The vinyl for the record is made of durable material and has been graded as Good to Good Plus (G/G+), thereby ensuring that it will play well for years to come. The disc has some visible scratch and scuff defects. There are some pops and ticks that can be heard during playback; however, they are only noticeable through some of the quiet portions. Accordingly, the overall sound quality is still quite good. Both sides of the record were played immediately prior to creating this listing and there are no skips. In addition, the labels are clean and fully legible with little indication of wear, i.e., no scratches or scuffs and no spindle marks. The record will ship with a new clear anti-static polypropylene inner sleeve which is provided as a courtesy. The original custom inner sleeve is fully intact and graded as Very Good Plus (VG+). It has no wrinkling, no age-related discoloration (i.e., browning and/or yellowing), no rips, and no significant ring wear. In addition, the inner sleeve includes one seam split on the bottom and one seam split on the side that have both been repaired. The original gatefold album cover is graded as (G/G+) due to visible ring wear and other visible wear, as well as some damage on the back. There is also some minor wear on the top and bottom seams, the spine, the record pocket, and the corners. The outer gatefold image maintains most of its original glossy sheen. The interior gatefold illustration has some visible ring wear and other visible wear, and has maintained most of the glossy sheen. The bottom edges have a tape repair. The record will ship with a new clear anti-static polypropylene outer sleeve which is provided as a courtesy.
