Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II, 1969 Rare UK Original Red/Plum Atlantic 588198 A2/B2 matrix with Lemon Song on lable and sleeve and Outstanding Audio
THE LEMON SONG IS LISTED ON SLEEVE, AND ON KILLING FLOOR ON LABEL Catalouge number: Atlantic 588198 This has the following first press matrix numbers: Side 1: 588198 A v 2 12 35
Side 2: 588198 B v 2 1 2 4
Vinyl EX+ Clean surface. Under bright light only fine hairlines scuffs and one scratch were visible. At first - this scratch located mostly in the run- outs area near the lable and only a negligible portion at the very end of last track of the side 1. The second - this scratch is not audible. I have played the record from the beginning to the end and it sounds stunning without any background noise and only with very light crackle wich can be heard in the quiet parts and the run-ins/outs. Only few static tics to entire album. Add to this powerful and clear sound of original press and you get in total .....simply great example.
Labels VG+ Clean and bright. I can see only few faint spindle marks (please see photo).
Sleeve VG++ Fragile mat original gatefold sleeve is in nice shape with no damage, writing, splits, tears or stickers etc. with moderate edge and corner wear. Inside it is very clean. Beautiful example (please see photo).
Spine VG++ (please see photo).
Inner sleeve VG+ The original inner sleeve (UK Patent Number 1,072,844) is in nice condition without splits (please see photo).
Great example of a cult album with Superb Clear audio and beautiful sleeve.
Grading System: In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records, I have added a (+) or (-) to my gradins where applicable.
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
