NOT a re-issue. I have owned this original record from new ie 52 years. I bought it to play and enjoy and it needs no introduction but this really is the top item for any Led Zepplin collector. This first UK pressing is extremely rare. It appears to be one of the earliest copies because:-

ATLANTIC RECORDS – 588171 UK 1STPressing – 1969
A) Uncorrected Matrix numbers:-
Side 1 588171 A// 1 1 1 5
Side 2 588171 B//1 1 S 1
B) Turquoise lettering on the sleeve and a " Superhype" credit on LP.
C) It has the original un-corrected Matrix Numbers. Shortly after initial issue these were changed so the originals ( like this one) bare those original numbers. It is believed that only 2000 copies , like this, were produced.
D) The song credits on Side 1 show that Song 3 is credited to " Superhype Music" and to "Jewel Music". In later production this was very quickly changed so as to credit Song 2 to " Superhype Music" and Song 3 to "Jewel Music". This must have changed almost immediately after release and prior to the change of the Matrix Number. This seems to confirm it is one of the first ever
E) The cover has the silver grey strip across the bottom and 588 171 on the binder edge
A Condition:-
The photographs should be viewed carefully as they form part of the description. I have tried to make these photographs give a true idea of the condition of both sleeve and record. The last two photographs are overexposed so the extra light picks up the smallest and lightest of marks, these are primarily from putting the vinyl in and out of sleeve.
The front of the sleeve has a little laminate lift near the centre right and top left. There a few light laminate creases near the Atlantic logo and above around the centre area of the right. All corners remain very square. The spine does have some laminate creases and they have caused some minor browning which seams to be very common to this sleeve.
The reverse of the sleeve has some creases going across the forehead of Mr Page and another near the head of Mr Jones. Light laminate lift near the spine a few very light laminate cracks.
Double click the photographs and have a look at both sides of the sleeve. All spinal writings can be read . Overall this sleeve is in fairly good order but shows signs of use.
There are some scratches and marks to the vinyl but that should not cause too much of a problem. I have tried to capture these in the photographs which should be looked at The hairlines that there are appear to only have a cosmetic affect. You may detect some background noise in the quieter parts of the music when you are listening with acritical ear but this is a very loud LP .
Side One Vinyl and label shows spindle trails but the label is lovely and clean in keeping with an album that has been played. Lovely clean Plum label that again shows spindle trails but still its very bright and clean really nice.
Side Two Vinyl and label also has hairlines and scuff marks from the paper inner sleeve . Lovely clean Plum label that again shows spindle trails but still its very bright and clean really nice. I last played this LP about 25 years ago and it played from start to finish without any serious problems.
The LP is for sale in mainland UK only and will be promptly dispatched by Royal Mail Special Delivery so will be insured and able to be tracked
