Description
Lee Scratch Perry and The Upsetters - Return of the Super Ape
Stunning LP from the Reggae Master. Scratch proving once again that he can deliver the goods. NOT just a follow-up to the classic Super Ape, but transcending it in many ways.
This copy is the RARE Goldenlane Records yellow/ red/ green Splatter vinyl version.
Released in 2021 on a very limited run of 500 copies.
***** Please note this is a duplicate purchase, hence the sale. *****
This version stands up very well, and has a deeper more roots sound than the recent MOV release. It is obviously mastered from a different source recording, and on direct comparison of the two, my personal opinion is that this is the better copy.
Also housed in a GATEFOLD sleeve (MOV is single sleeve) with a v. cool pic of Lee Perry, photographed outside Black Ark studios (as far as I can make out), contemporary to this release.
Sealed, but with creasing to corner of the sleeve (see pics). Price is reduced accordingly.

As a record collector of almost 50 years, it is now time to thin out the collection a little.
Over the forthcoming months, weeks (and possibly years), I will be posting items from my collection for sale.
These include duplicates / alternate pressings to some records I already have in my collection, some records I picked up along the way of artists I like(d), and some LPs purchased just 'cos I liked the cover (admit it, we’ve all done that).
Many surplus items have accumulated over years of digging in record shops and online - and now it’s time to clear those shelves, just a little.
Some LPs will be brand new/ sealed, almost all are in decent condition (EX-NM) with a few collectables/unwanted LPs at VG-VG+ thrown in for those bargain spotters.
Get in touch for any additional release information, more pics, or to discuss prices.
Postage will be combined for multiple purchases.
Happy Hunting,
Andy
