1970 UK Vertigo 6360 019 'Legend (Red Boots)' large Vertigo swirl label gatefold LP.
Good things to say about the sleeve is that it's strong and solid with no sticker tears. Although the inside is pretty good, the outside suffers from edge and corner rubs, ringwear, creases and minor dings along with some 'shadow' writing as someone has used the front as a paper rest in the past. So essentially the sleeve is robust but tired looking. As such I rate it 5 /10 for condition.
The vinyl is flat and bright and weighs in at 102g on my scale. Matrices on the dead wax run-offs include 1Y//3 and 2Y//4 for sides A & B respectively.
Both labels are clean as shown with the tight spindle hole area showing evidence of several+ plays.
Angling the disc at the window in daylight it looks in nice shape. Under a bright light source I see some light scuffs and hairlines which is typically due to handling and inner sleeve storage 'rash' over the years. Therefore I'm giving it 7 /10 by way of visual condition.
Next, I'm play testing it now on my Linn / Naim hi-fi system. I'm catching tics and pops which seems at odds with its' appearance; maybe it needs a good clean. Anyhow, for now I'm opting for 6.5 /10 for aural quality.
Finally, the original Vertigo inner sleeve (bag) has age browning, creasing and a repaired tear with 'invisible' tape.
