Description

We pack items very carefully (check feedback) and do not accept returns due to shipping damages.  If you'd like postal insurance, let us know before finalizing payment, and we'll add it to your invoice.  Insurance is not available for USPS First Class International, but is available for USPS Priority Mail International (for most countries).

We use brand-new shipping boxes and packing materials for added shipping protection for records.  There is a $2 handling fee for domestic shipping, to cover the cost of packaging.

MULTIPLE-LISTINGS BUYERS:  Our boxes fit a maximum of five records or two box sets (or similar combination), so we will invoice you once you reach that limit on our "Awaiting Payment" list, even if you still have bids out.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:  Please be aware we ship by USPS First Class International only, unless your order exceeds four pounds in weight, in which case we have no other option that to ship by USPS Priority Mail International.

THREE RPM RECORDS, 10" 78 rpm Nos. 412, 425, 437

All six sides are B.B. "Blues Boy" KING AND HIS ORCHESTRA.  All were recorded in Los Angeles.

Rolling Stone magazine ranked King at No. 6 on its 2011 list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time, and he was ranked No. 17 in Gibson's "Top 50 Guitarists of All Time".  According to Edward M. Komara, King "introduced a sophisticated style of soloing based on fluid string bending and shimmering vibrato that would influence virtually every electric blues guitarist that followed." King was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.   King was also inducted into 2014 class of the R&B Music Hall of Fame.   He is considered one of the most influential blues musicians of all time, earning the nickname "The King of Blues", and one of the "Three Kings of the Blues Guitar" (along with Albert King and Freddie King).  In 1956 it was noted that King appeared at 342 shows.

412:  WHEN MY HEART BEATS LIKE A HAMMER (R&B #8, 1954) and BYE!  BYE!  BABY

425:  JUMP WITH YOU BABY and LONELY AND BLUE

437:   TEN LONG YEARS (R&B #9, 1955) and WHAT CAN I DO

I didn't take a picture of any but the first label.  They are all identical except for the title of the song.

These records show a little wear with some light scuffs and scratches, varying side to side, but there is NO surface noise, and I heard NO ticks.  Collector's sleeves show some wear as well, but none are torn or split.

NOTE:  I DONT GRADE LABELS -- see pictures for that information.  I use the eBay record grading system when listing 78's, which is mostly based on visual observation of the wax, shellac, or vinyl.  KEEP IN MIND THAT ALMOST ALL OLD 78's HAVE SURFACE NOISE WHEN PLAYED ON MODERN EQUIPEMENT (except the extremely well-made records).  It's only distracting surface noise, as well as ticks, pops, clicks or jumps, that may affect grading.

ALL THE RECORDS I LIST COME FROM ONE COLLECTION, THAT OF JAMES M. KENNEY OF NEW WINDSOR, MARYLAND.  HE WAS ONE OF THE EAST COAST'S LARGEST AUDIO AND ELECTRONICS COLLECTORS.
