Description

Very,very cool and extremely scarce debut LP by this group of four ultra mod chicks from Quebec,Canada released on APEX label in 1969. From what limited French I can read it appears that these four chicks sing and play their own instruments on this LP. They scored three major hits in Quebec with-La Licorne(The Unicorn), Le Petit Sauvage Du Nord(The Little Eskimo) and La Ferme De Mon Uncle(My Uncles Farm) and these are all catchy pop hits but they really shine on the rest of the LP particularly on their covers of classic R n B tracks like-Sunny, Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You and I'm Gonna Make You Love Me and a dreamy cover of The Association's -Windy. There are even a couple of psychy tracks, with titles I can't decipher, they may be originals. Don't get me wrong, this is no garage/psych ripper but it is a missing link in the development of Quebecois pop/rock and really quite unusual considering the female role in popular music in Quebec at that time. Beside they all look great go-go dancing in their maxi-dresses on the cover. Cover has some ultra light wear, vinyl is VG++ to NM, plays perfect.
