Description
This album of Charlie Manson singing his songs was recorded at Gold Star Studios in Los Angeles and an unknown studio in Van Nuys from September 11, 1967 to Aug. 9, 1968. The album was produced by Phil Kaufman. 2000 copies were printed and only 300 sold. I worked in a record store in Chapel Hill, North Carolina from 1969 to 1971. I ordered all the weird stuff, the British imports, independent blues labels, Folkways releases, exotic recordings of ceremonies and bootlegs. This is one I ordered and set aside for my collection. One owner. I played it once and that was enough. If you think Charlie is a bad person, his music is worse. It is historic however, being that the Beach Boys recorded Cease to Exit.
This is certainly one of the original pressings, one of the first 2000 produced in 1970, and one of 300 that actually was sold in 1970.
