Description
This is Prestige / Bluesville Records BVLP 1073, Lightnin' Hopkins Goin' Away, a blue label original mono copy of this wonderful record with Van Gelder stamped in the dead wax and featuring Leonard Gaskin and Herbie Lovelle. The record is visually in VG condition, showing marks and a small pressing defect which do not effect play. The record plays with a small skip on track 2. It does not cover a full line of lyric but does create a slight jar in the rhythm. Otherwise it plays quietly with occasional background noise and without distortion of the music. The glossy cover has clear tape on the bottom seam, a 3" split on the top seam and edge wear. The labels show light spindle marks. This has been a valued personal copy for many years, recently upgraded at considerable expense. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12.
