Description
Prestige Bluesville 1029, “Last Night Blues” with Lightnin’ opkins, HHopkins, guitar and vocals, and Sonny Terry, harmonica, with Leonard Gaskin and Belton Evans; from 1961. This is the original DG pressing. The vinyl plays at VG+ with definite light static, sometimes crackle, but improves on the inner tracks. The laminated jacket has intermittent seamwear but no real splits; there is about ¾” (2 cm) of wear at top and bottom of the open end and corner wear on the other end; the jacket back is basically clean but has rubwear, evidently from another (maybe a Black Sabbath?) LP. There are no bends and no writing on the cover. The songs are “ Rocky Mountain”, “Got To Move Your Baby”, “So Sorry To Leave You”, “Take a Trip with Me”, “Last Night Blues”, “Lightnin’s Stroke”, Hard to Love a Woman”, and “Conversation Blues”. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $14.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, I strongly recommend registered mail for $11.75 extra. (Two years ago, a package to the Netherlands was lost in shipment, resulting in disappointment on both sides.) Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be caught in a postal conveyor belt and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window with no damage to LP or jacket. More than two LPs may be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
