Description
Lightnin Hopkins LP Lightnin (1961) 180gm Bluesville BVLP1019 NM/EX
On Prestige Bluesville (BVLP1019) 180gram vinyl LP (1961).
There was plenty of opportunity for this recording to crackle and hiss, as it is an acoustic set with, mostly, quiet periods, when sound quality can be unforgiving. However, the album showed up very few imperfections & the quality belies its age.
This heavy-weight 180gm record has been play graded, and I only noticed 2 tracks which had minor problems: on ‘Automobile blues’ graded EX with some light crackles, and on ‘Thinkin about an old friend’ graded EX with very few faint crackles. The rest of the album plays perfectly with no other clicks crackles and no jumps and so the other 8 tracks were Mint quality. Hence overall the record is play-graded NM. The labels have no writing or other imperfections –see photos.
The front of the cover is in excellent condition with some creasing. The rear of the cover is in excellent condition with creasing to one top corner, and a label in the other top corner - otherwise there are no other major problems -see photos. The sleeve is graded EX overall.
Tracklist – please see photo.
