Limited Edition The Doors Complete Vinyl x 7 Box Set 180g

Description:

They spent well over a year cleaning up the tapes to ensure this will be the definitive pressing of these historic albums. Jac Holzman (the founder of Elektra Records) and Bruce Botnick (the original Doors producer) have been hard at work in the studio. With the assistance of Mastering Engineer Bernie Grundman (who actually mastered the original albums and still has all of his original mastering notes!), they have transferred the original analog master tapes through Grundman’s all-tube console and all-tube cutting lathe. All the parties concerned with this project (and they are all taking it very seriously!) feel that this approach has allowed them to get the very best sound transferred to the lacquers.

A seven-LP box set of 180-gram HQ vinyl reissues of all six of The Doors' studio masterpieces in stereo PLUS a mono version of their debut album! The entire set has been remastered and personally supervised by Jac Holzman, founder of Elektra Records and production supervisor for The Doors, and Bruce Botnick, The Doors' engineer/co-producer/mixer for all six-studio albums. All albums are exact replicas of the original releases, including all artwork, packaging, inner sleeves and mixes. All original vinyl LPs are packaged in a super cool lizard-skin box. Keep an extra set sealed and make some extra cash on eBay when they disappear!

“The long awaited faux lizard skin clad, seven 180g LP - The Doors Box Set has finally arrived, two years late, at a higher than originally announced cost, in very short supply. Was it worth the wait? …I’d say the wait for The Doors box set has been well worth it. I got my money’s worth in one long sit down with the entire set and I know I’ll be listening happily for a long time to come. So thanks to everyone involved in this long, arduous process. The packaging is swell and the pressing quality is uniformly excellent. The Doors Vinyl Box is sure to become a collector’s item…There’s some kind of magic in the grooves and… It’s certainly addictive!”
