This is an ultra rare original folk/psych album – original 1970 Kapp Records Stereo LP KS-3636

·       Original, first u.s. pressing - dj / promo copy

·       Original orange, pink and yellow kapp label

·    Both the original master tapes and the production stampers of this title have been lost and missing for decades (word has it that Sundazed managed to locate the missing tapes in 2009).

      To reissue this album on cd in 2003, the ‘Wild Places’ label had to rely on Linda Perhacs’ personal reel-to-reel tapes.  The cd mastering was made from these reel tapes by using extensive digital restoration and “baking”, which does not do justice to the original recording. (although the bidders should note that some light surface noise is present on each and every copy of this album we have heard so far).  

·     This is the original, authentic, first USA pressing; this is not a reissue, an import, or a counterfeit pressing.

·       Original, thick, textured cardboard cover (USA style)

·       Extremely clean, wear-free labels

·       Thick, heavy vinyl pressing

·     This pressing has a matrix number in trail-off vinyl (dead wax) that ends with 'T-1'.  

This likely means this LP is part of the very first, original pressing)

     ·      The photos are the actual images of the covers and label, the REAL image of the ACTUAL LP you are bidding on. These are NOT "recycled" images or images "borrowed" from other previous auctions. What you see is what you'll get.

Obscure psychedelic folk singer Linda Perhacs released her only album Parallelograms in 1970 on Kapp Records. 

Combining fragile and beautifully melodic acid folk with perfectly-rendered electronic effects, this remarkable album consists of what its creator describes as ‘visual music’. Parallelograms has gone on to become one of the most legendary and well-loved recordings of its time.

This is an amazing album, a truly hippie psychedelic folk masterpiece and without any doubt one of the top albums of the genre.

 (IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually under the strong light, and NOT play-graded!

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG VG+. A few light abrasions (mostly just sleeve scuffs inflicted in storage over the years) ARE VISIBLE, but they appear fairly  insignificant relative to the overall condition of the vinyl, and are only moderately visually distracting. For most part, the vinyl looks impeccable, without any MAJOR visual flaws or imperfections. Much of the original luster is intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)          The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such beautiful analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           The record comes in the original stock inner sleeve.

(d)          Of course, this is a real, full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior digital recording!

·       COVER

THE COVER IS VERY GOOD+ (VG+)

Here is an honest appraisal of the cover:

-         Cover has some very, very, very light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the ring wear as an honest 2!

-         Cover has three corners slightly worn / dinged / bent (nothing significant)

-         Cover has some light wear / chipping on all three seams

-         Back cover has slight circular wear, probably caused by friction or by rubbing against other covers during the storage. Similar in appearance to a common ring wear, but, UNLIKE ring wear, these grayish areas may be possible to clean up with a minor effort.

-         Back cover has very slight staining on bottom left corner (see photo). This is not obvious or distracting
