Description
This is it — the legendary "psychedelic folk" album (KS-3636) that has gained a cult following worthy of several re-releases over the years. I am a member of that cult; I remain astonished that this wonderful collection of aural delights did not achieve the commercial success it deserves. This copy has a tiny hole through the upper right-hand corner designating it as a cutout (yes, amazingly I bought this for $1 back in the day) and some wear along the corners, especially the right corners. The cover has faded a bit but is not as yellowed as the photos might suggest.
As for the disc itself, I think you'll find it's in remarkable condition considering that it has gone through nearly 40 years numerous plays as its owner urged friends, "You gotta listen to this." I've read that Ms. Perhacs was disappointed in this Kapp Records pressing and is much happier with the quality of the reproduction on the CD releases, but remember this: All of that enthusiasm for this music built up over the years was based on listening to this record. It sure sounds great to me!
All told, I believe you'll find this album a splendid, high waisted white flavored acquisition.
