Description
For sale is a vinyl record by Linda Ronstadt titled "For Country Lovers, originally released in 1981 by Capitol Records, then reissued by Capitol Special Markets for sale in Radio Shack stores under their Realistic Catalog Number 51-7002. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched "Mastered By Capitol Jay", followed by a nachine stamped upper case "O" and the matrix numbers G-1/G-1, indicating that the record was mastered at Capitol Mastering of Hollywood, California by Jay Maynard before the first stampefe were used to make this album at Capitol Records' pressing plant located in Jacksonville, Illinois. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover, which is made from thin stock material, is suplimated by another piec of thicker cardboard inside the jacket. This cover is graded as Excellent because of some corner blunts, two bend corners, edge rubs and stress cracks along the spine. The spine is Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as NBear Mint,with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without any sleeves marks, smudges, surface scratches or spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading this record as Near Mint. It plays all the way through without any surface noise, pops, skips or lock-ups from start to finish. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This is still one of the best copies of this album that I have ever heard or seen and you would be hard-pressed to find one in this condition. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
