I grade on the simple and conservative scale of:
NM -In near-perfect & flawless condition. Covers have zero signs of wear. Records are like new with absolutely no marks.
VG++ -Minimal cover wear such as dinged corners or light shelf wear. Records have minor sleeve lift marks/ scuffs.
VG+ -Covers have more signs of wear, but still excellent collection pieces. Light ring wear, bent corners, beginnings of seam splitting, etc. Records may have a few marks but still play excellently with only minimal background noise.
VG -Covers may have slight seam splitting, bent corners and ring wear. Records will have marks that may cause pops or ticks in places, but nothing that causes skipping or jumping. Still highly enjoyable vinyl records.
VG- -Slightly lower grade than VG. Covers may have seam splits and moderate wear. Still no skips or jumps on vinyl.
G -Covers have heavy wear and signs of molding or serious water damage may exist. Vinyl may have deep scratches that cause noticeable background noise that may interfere with listening. May have skips or jumps in passages. I will only sell records of this grade that are extremely difficult to find in any condition.
