Yardbirds Live, Epic records original promo, E 30615, rare withdrawn LP.
This album was originally recorded in 1968 during The Yardbirds' final incarnation, which featured Jimmy Page as the band's fourth guitarist. The band played a live gig at the Anderson Theater in New York in March of '68 that was recorded for possible issuance as a live album; however, when the band heard the tapes, they decided against its release. Four months later, The Yardbirds were history. The show, incidentally is excellent, finding the band in full-on hard rockin' energy, the tracks are extended jams, exclusive versions found only on this release.
Inspected visually as vinyl being Mint-, sleeve as being Excellent. No visible scratches. I do not usually offer vinyl records, so I have gone to the trouble to take extensive clear photographs to demonstrate I have judged the condition reliably. There is one drag mark around the center hole on side 2, which I presume to mean that side 1 was played once or maybe twice. There are no marks around the center hole on side 1, possibly side 2 was not ever played. Record is very clean and will please any collector concerned with condition. The sleeve has some surface wrinkles in the upper right corner, and some light wear around the edges, mostly in the upper left corner, with no splitting along any of the edges, and only the faintest hint of record ring impressions around the outer 12 inch diameter edge near the bottom. Stamped DEMONSTRATION NOT FOR SALE in red ink on the sleeve backside. If I have no described something important in describing this LP, please ask. (This LP comes from the Los Angeles house of a daughter of a former Columbia records executive, the house had been completely closed for over 30 years, and two rooms of the 2nd floor of the house were filled with well over 1000 records, many still sealed and many promotional.)
