Rarity: this is rare fully autographed copy of the ‘Lloyd Cole & the Commotions ‘Easy Pieces’ album released in 1985. This is a really amazing set of autographs and features stunning, large signatures and will simply amazing framed! This set includes the full band line up of Band members Lloyd Cole (vocals, guitar, lyricist), Blair Cowan (keyboards), Lawrence Donegan (bass guitar), Neil Clark (guitar) & Stephen Irvine (drums). I have purchased many auction lots from Omega, and all put up for sale by a Netherlands-based gig goer at the time in 2020/1. On the basis that this album was released 22nd November 1985, and the next time that the band were in West Europe, I am assuming that this set of signatures was secured in bordering Belgium in February 1986.
I came to secure these autographs via the world-renowned Omega Auctions this year, who carry out the highest due-diligence on the authenticity for any autographs put for sale by their auction house – a copy of the receipt listing this item will be included in the sale.
Artist: Lloyd Cole & the Commotions
Title: Easy Pieces
Barcode: 04228276701
Country of manufacture: Netherlands.
Release number: 827 6701
Label: Polydor
Release date: 1985
Condition: all pictures will refer to the all-important signatures and images of the outer cover. I am not grading either the record or inner sleeve, as the reality is there is no intrinsic value in these parts, the value is all in the cover due to the rare signatures!
Outer cover: this is a single panel outer cover opening on the right-hand side, to house what is a single vinyl release. In grading the cover minus signatures, this is a really condition cover. The cover has a mild sheen on a thin stock card holding the vinyl, and certainly has minimal wear to corners, minimal creasing, no rubbing and minor age yellowing to the sleeve. I am grading the cover as excellent minus (-) condition. This record has clearly experienced very minor handling and a really decent copy!
The signatures: all five signatures are signed in the same medium-grade felt marker, and are in a black finish. I would grade all five of the signatures as in excellent condition or 8/10 for boldness, lack of fading, no smudging etc, and only marked down due to very minor smudging to Neil Clark’s and Stephen Irvine’s signature. This is a set of signatures that will look simply amazing if framed! Please note that all of the signatures are on the rear panel of the sleeve.
Inner sleeve & records simply graded as ‘used’ and will be supplied as part of the listing to the winning bidder.
