Description
The David Bowie 1979 "Lodger" vinyl gatefold sleeve LP is a rare promotional item. Its unique quality as a promotional item is denoted by the promo serial number AQL1-3254 which appears in the final groove of the vinyl and the additional sticker (not on the standard release) along with the engravings "Than None at All", "Sterling" and "No Sense is Better" etched on the vinyl. On the centre label of Side B the number "456" is jotted in ink. The additional sticker marked "Post Card" on the reverse of the outside gatefold is not part of the standard album artwork and includes a track listing and the promo serial number. It is much smaller than the Post Card design on the standard LP artwork.
As for the album itself its the 3rd of Bowie's Berlin Trilogy with Eno and Tony Visconti, his usual band company. It was nevertheless recorded in Switzerland and mixed in the USA though Bowie, at the time, was Berlin based and very much under its spell. Includes the singles "Boys Keep Swinging" and "DJ". The lyrics are printed on the inner sleeve. The sleeves are slightly worn but the vinyl in excellent condition, probably only played - and then not often if at all to judge by its condition - by the outlet it was supplied for.
