London CS 6046, RODRIGO, Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra (Concierto de Aranjuez)/ FALLA, Nights in the Gardens of Spain, ATAULFO ARGENTA, Yepes (guitar), Soriano (piano), National Orchestra of Spain, 2E/3E, blue back, FFSS pressing. This is NOT a reissue – it is the original 50+ year old 2E/3E pressing. The Rodrigo spent many years HP's TAS Super Disk List and is rated 18 out of 20 by Moon and Gray. The sound is rich, full and detailed with a wonderfully spacious hall sound. This copy looks and plays virtually new. I cannot find much wrong with it. The vinyl surfaces are clean, glossy, and exceptionally quiet with NO pops, clicks, or skips – there are a few barely audible tics on side 1, but NO marks whatsoever on either side. The vinyl looks and plays NM. The labels also look new (see photos). The jacket is very clean, with no seam splits, but there is a small dent near the upper rear seam (see photo) and a very slight ding on the lower left corner, so I will grade it EX. The inner sleeve is also EX. In summary, this is a beautiful copy of this wonderful golden age recording of Spanish music. Feel free to return for a full refund if not completely satisfied.
