Description

This is a collection of 14 songs by Michael Hurley, the Vermont troubadour, and a clutch of his musical friends, recorded this time in Boston. The songs are mournful or mocking and in-between. One is titled "Monkey on the Interstate" and another "The 8-Ball Cafe" and "Hog of the Forsaken" Hurley writes about life, but creates a song universe slightly askew. He wrote the songs, sings, and plays guitar. He penned the cover art. Others supply bass, more guitar, more vocals, or banjo, mandolin, piano, dobro, fiddle and trumpet. Not for everyone, and nothing like anyone else. Rounder 3011.
