Description

Los Lobos - El Fronte Norteno, Not On Label 1 2xLP Recorded live, in 1984 at the legendary McCabe’s Guitar Shop in Los Angeles. Instead, it zeroes in on the core of the band: flawless acoustic arrangements, soaring vocals, and lightning-fast fretwork. Because it's an acoustic set in a small shop, it feels remarkably intimate. It avoids the bombast of stadium shows and lets you appreciate the sheer dexterity of David Hidalgo’s accordion playing and Cesar Rosas’ rustic, soulful vocals. The album beautifully anchors the listener in the band's Chicano, Mexican-American heritage. Highlighting their mastery of traditional norteño, a high-energy hybrid of Mexican dance and German polka styles.

Grading scale: NM > EX > VG+ > VG > Good > Poor)

Vinyl: NM. Looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time. The finish is shiny, with no visible defects. Labels are superb, clean and bright without marks. Spindle shows no sign of wear. And no warps.
