Description
Here’s the first EP from Los Nivram on Regal from 1965 or so. For my money, these guys were the best Spanish ’60s group after Los Brincos; sadly, they only did two EPs (so this is half their recorded output). Both their releases feature wonderful beat-edging-into-freakbeat sounds -- highlights of which were featured on the fine Vinedos comps from several years ago -- and are well worth tracking down. Selections on this 7" are "Falsa Ilusion" (a so-so-ballad), "Un Amor Sin Igual" (INCREDIBLE guitar-driven mover), "Mi Nuevo Amor" (also great, if slightly less intense), and "Tema De Peter Gunn" (cool organ/sax-led cover of the famed TV theme). All sung in Spanish.
Both disc and laminated picture sleeve are around VG, condition-wise. The sleeve is a little nicer, with some creasing around the edges/corners, tiny rear ringwear, and some tearing to the flipback tabs. The disc is slightly worse, with crackling and minor audible scratches on all songs, some ringwear to the labels and what looks like a stamp on both sides (can’t read it for the life of me; purple ink on blue paper). Nonetheless, an enjoyable copy, and VERY tuff to track down.
