Description
Wow. Lots of questions on this one! This is a very rare single to find on vinyl, as it's either part of the original 500 that were made in 1993 (<-- this is my guess, based upon the translucent vinyl and the lack of barcode on the back cover), or it's one of the limited 1,000 that were made in 2000 (of which there is scant description available due to their equal rarity). Either way, it's super rare. Below is the description from Discogs for the 1993 version which contains reference to the potential that it's part of the 2000 reprint, but Bong Load clearly wasn't a huge shop so they made very limited releases and did not differentiate or document them all that well. I will say this: their photo makes it appear more translucent than it actually is - you REALLY do have to hold up to a light source to see that it is transparent, and you can see from my photos that the back of the record cover contains no barcode, which the subsequent pressings do have. That's why I believe it's part of the original 500. And this copy comes with the original leaflet they discuss in that Discogs entry as well.
Discogs description of the original 500 pressings from 1993:
------------------------------------------------------------------
First pressing limited to 500.
Vinyl looks Black but is actually a Translucent Dark Brown when held up to a light source.
Some copies include 2.75" x 11" Bong Load Catalog Insert. Probably only later copies or undocumented re-presses since "Steve Threw Up" (BL11) is advertised on the leaflet which wasn't released until 1994.
Back lists no distribution company and has no barcode. The Bongload address listed is:
BONGLOAD RECORDS
P.O.BOX 931538
HOLLYWOOD, CA 90093 --------------------------------------------------------------
Discogs very, very unhelpful description of the limited 1,000 copies re-released in the year 2000:
--------------------------------------------------------------- Recorded at Karl's House.
Limited to 1.000 copies.
Distributed by Proper Sales and Distribution, NYC.

****PLEASE NOTE: [9/04/2017 EDIT FROM FIRST ENTRY] I initially thought there was a blip on this recording, but I cleaned it thoroughly and the blip is definitely gone. HOWEVER, I noticed that this record is slightly warped. It's not enough to affect the playability, because it plays just fine on my 1200 with a Stanton 6055K, but I can tell when it's playing that there's a slight warp to the vinyl. But it's still very listenable and definitely one of those limited 500 or 1000 released**** <-- this is why I rated the record only VG. It's in great shape other than that one weird blemish. This set comes with the original leaflet insert in the photos, so all the pieces are there for the collecting.
I keep all of my vinyl in my living room, well away from any possible sunlight, and at a perfect 70 degrees Fahrenheit (+/- 5 degrees). This is part of my collection that I am selling in order to fit our stuff in a smaller place. I hate selling any records, as it's like I'm parting with family, but I am doing what needs to be done. My loss, your gain, and such. Hopefully your home will be a good one! If you win multiple auctions within a week of winning the first one (I won't hold things forever of course), I will package and send them together. $6 for the first record and, 50 cents per record after that. Double LPs count as two records (it's a weight thing). Bid away!
