Description
Lost & Found rare promo Decca Compilation album featuring David Bowie, Genesis, Joe Cocker, Al Stewart, David Essex & Kenny Everett. The album was released as a double album in the late 1970's (I think) the other record featuring Denny Laine, Elkie Brooks, Marc Bolan, Kindness, Susan Hampshire & Rod Stewart. This is an extremely rare early test pressing that says on the label that the sound quality is not Representative of the finished record and is only for review purpose often these pressings were only for the artist involved and people from the record label to see what they thought of the sound/running order etc and with double albums such as this to save money only one disc was pressed.
The album itself is in very good condition and is in a plain white paper sleeve (They didn't go to the expense of printing covers!) This particular pressing is of great interest because it has both the A & B side of David Bowie's first singe Liza Jane/Louie, Louie Go Home (Credited on this release as being by Davey Jones) A real must have for any Bowie fan (or Genesis, Al Stewart, Joe Cocker, David Essex or Kenny Everett fan!)
The album features 6 artists 3 on each side with the A & B sides of I assume their first singles for Decca in the early 1960's non of the acts found sucess on Decca but all went on to greater things elsewhere over the next decade! There is a sticker mark on side 2 as in the picture that can I believe be removed with either purpose fluid from a hardware shop or lighter fluid.
This album rarely turns up these days in it's released form and a test pressing is nearly impossible to find!
