Lou Donaldson on Blue Note 1537
This is the original deep-groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Lou Donaldson “Quartet/Quintet/Sextet” on the Lexington Ave. labels of Blue Note BLP 1537. The beaded rim playing surface is in near-new condition, with a high luster; a tiny needle drop toward the end of Track 2, Side 1 is lightly audible for a few spins. The coated reverse-frame cover is clean and bright throughout; the top seam has a very neat clear tape repair; the spine shows some rubbing, but no splits or significant wear; the bottom seam has 1” wear at the spine and a 1” clear tape repair at the opening; store sticker at the upper left corner of the back slick.
