Original RCA Victor Records promotional set of Lou Reed’s debut album featuring an incredibly rare “This is Lou Reed” press kit. Original very early 1st US pressing promotional release factory sealed copy of Lou Reed’s debut album released in April, 1972. Leaving “The Velvet Underground” in 1970, already one year after Lou Reed signed a contract with RCA Records. Still factory sealed 1st issue “Made and Printed in U.S.A.” cover with the “Lou Reed RCA Promotional Album – Not For Sale” track listing misprint sticker affixed to the cover itself underneath the shrink wrap and indicating the timing for “Berlin” as “3:26” as oppose to the correct one of “5:13” as well as containing the “LSP-4701” catalog number. Original 1972 “This is Lou Reed” promotional press kit prepared by RCA Victor for the representatives of the media and press conference dedicated to the release of Lou Reed’s self-titled debut album. Incredibly rare press kit in the form of a black folder with a black and white photo of Lou Reed that can be seen on the album’s back cover and "This is Lou Reed”" banner at the top right corner on the front. The folder with an “RCA Records and Tapes” inner pocket features a fully complete original authentic set of promotional materials:

-   Lou Reed Exclusively on RCA Records and Tapes black and white silver gelatin photo

-   Lou Reed’s biography handwritten by the artist on the official RCA Records form with the New York address

-   Le Bataclan ’72. A black and white portrait poster of Lou Reed with the incredibly rare French review of the live concert featuring Lou Reed, John Cave and Nico at the Bataclan club at 50 Boulevard Voltaire, 75011 Paris on January 29th, 1972

For many years, the recording of this live concert was distributed illegally in the form of the bootleg “Le Bataclan ‘72” album until the release of the official version in 2004.

The folder measuring 9” x 12” is in fantastic vintage condition just like its contents.
