Description

This is the very scarce race series release of Louis Armstrong and his Orchestra playing "Some Of These Days" and "When You're Smiling" on OKeh 8729. These are alternate takes with  no vocal choruses, but instead with extra hot solos. The tempos are also much faster than the common pop versions found on OKeh 41298. This disc does not turn up very often! Now as to the condition. Visually I have to grade it as a V- because of the many lam cracks on both sides, which I've tried to show in one of the pictures. However, the record plays very, very well,  sounding more like V+/ E.
