Up for bid is an extremely rare LP, "Satan is Real," by The Louvin Brothers. This is part of a collection we recently acquired from an owner who took great care of his records. This is an original mono press on Capitol (T-1277), released in 1959. For more info on this LP, go here: http://www.discogs.com/Louvin-Brothers-Satan-Is-Real/release/2756628. Anyone who has ever looked for this LP knows how difficult it is to find, especially in this good condition! This LP is a solid VG+, with several very light scuffs on either side. LP plays with very little surface noise (some light intermittent crackle) - it truly sounds amazing!! I am sure a professional clean would eliminate much of the surface noise. LP is extremely clean and retains a nice gloss. Stamped matrix info for side 1 is T1-1277-D1 with "#3" and "1S" to the right of the matrix. Side 2 reads T2-1277-D2. Jacket is VG+, with a couple of seam splits. There is a seam split on the top seam, starting at the lip which travels toward the spine about two inches. There is another split along the top seam, halfway between the center and the spine. This split is about 1/2 inch long. There is a small tear in the bottom of the artwork that has been reinforced with clear tape, which covers a small portion of the bottom seam. The portion of the bottom seam covered by the tape is not split (see pictures). This is light creasing on the front artwork that runs parallel to the spine. There is light corner wear on all corners. Jacket is extremely clean and retains a nice gloss and bright coloring. This one's a monster - don't miss your chance to pick up this extremely rare gem, in beautiful condition!
