Description
Love Serve Remember (ZBS Foundation - no catalog number), 1973. Six LP Box Set.
From ZBS Foundation this is LOVE SERVE REMEMBER, an original 6-LP box set (includes 12-page booklet) made in 1973 and available by mail order only. This is the brainchild of Baba Ram Dass, né Richard Alpert, sidekick of Timothy Leary at Harvard in the early 60s when the experimentation with LSD was in its infancy. Ram Dass later eschewed the psychedelics movement to pursue his spirituality. This box set, in a sense, documents his journey up to that date. The set contains phone calls with Ram Dass (recorded at WBAI in New York City), Ram Dass reading from the Third Chinese Patriarch of Zen, the Gospel According to John, the Ramayana, and music. Total playing time is more than 4.7 hours.
The box shows little wear and remains sturdy. Two of the boxtop corners, however, have been repaired with near-imperceptible matte-finish Scotch tape. The records look to have hardly been played and are in Near Mint condition except for sides 1 and 6 which show only the most minor of paper scuffs. The 12"x12" booklet is in great shape and contains writings, verse and photographs.
