Description

////////// (Multiple Values) Lui is Lui Williams, and he is joined by David "Kawika" Tabali, Terri Harmer on saxophone, and Al Narducci on guitar, who also did some session work with Jesse Kalima around the same period. Jerry Byrd also sits in on steel guitar.//// Lui - S/T vinyl private press LP on the Lui Productions imprint (1978). Impossibly rare Hawaii private press record with both jazz and traditional Hawaiian leanings. A mix of original songs and some standards. The instrumentation is really the stand out here, with impressive sax and guitar. Excellent rendition of my Funny Valentine with an innovative drum break down. One of the most sought-after of the “Cool Hawaii” records, along with Tender Leaf and Tony Tam Sing’s “Tony” on Shampton, this is a privately pressed LP from Lui Williams, with the songs “My Lover” and “Oh, Oh (I Think I’m Fallin’ In Love)” and (oddly) featuring Pamela Polland from The Gentle Soul on backing vox. Should appeal to fans of Lemuria, Tender Leaf, Babadu, Rider Kiaha, George Street, Kasuals, Summer, Gary Sterling, Golden Throat & other “Cool Hawaii” records. Songs: Kaanapali, My Lover, Paniolo Country, What I Did For Love, Oh,Oh I Think I'm Falling In Love, Beyond the Reef, People's Happiness, My Funny Valentine, Missy, Hawaiian Wedding Song. Condition of LP is : vg+ with a bit of noise on Paniolo Country &, a few ticks at end of each side(pressing issue I believe) , Slight Bow that does not affect playback // // Condition of Cover is : vg+ with light wear , corners dinged with a bit of paper loss on them // DEDICATED & SIGNED ON REAR  //
