Description
This is a superb near mint copy of the extremely rare first pressing of Lush's Gala compilation album, which brings together the tracks from their first two EPs and first mini-album. It has been cherished and carefully stored in a PVC sleeve since it was purchased 25 years ago from Nottingham's renowned and much-missed Selectadisc.
Like most 4AD albums the design of the record (by the incredible Vaughn Oliver at v23) is a work of art, with beautiful decoration on the main outer sleeve and the two inner sleeves which fit together perfectly and then slot into the outer sleeve. The triple sleeve arrangement is very unusual, though not as unusual as the fact that the outer sleeve has a wealth of intricate illustration on the INSIDE of the sleeve (see third picture).
The vinyl is in beautiful near mint condition with no scratches or marks and just the normal level of surface noise and the odd insignificant crackle in keeping with a record of this age. There is also a very slight (2-3mm) warp in the vinyl which was present on purchase and doesn't affect sound quality in any way.
The outer sleeve is in near mint condition with no tears or creases, and the spine is in beautiful condition. There is a tiny barely visible bit of scuffing to the open edge (see pictures). The inner sleeves are also near mint with no tears or creases.
