Here is a RARE vintage album from my collection offered up for sale:A 1964 MONO LP album, Simon & Garfunkel "Wednesday Morning 3 AM" the duo's debut album! Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel were riding the folk wave as the Beatles and other British bands were invading America. This is the rare 2 eye MONO pressing, released on Columbia records CL-2249. Featuring Bob Dylan's "The times they are a changin'" plus the ORIGINAL version of "The Sounds of Silence". This is the original track featuring ONLY the duo! (the band will NOT kick in as you would expect!) This track was added to for the hit version commonly heard on the radio. The story goes that producer Tom Wilson added a band backing track to the song and released it as a single WITHOUT the duo's even knowing of the changes to the original track! The song took off up the charts and was then later featured in the motion picture "The Graduate" in 1967. Incidentally the band who played on the track was Bob Dylan's band featuring Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper!. . This 53 year old record is in well preserved condition! This is the EARLY FIRST PRESS MONO pressing featuring the heavy rigid disc along with the 2 eye MONO labels.
The vinyl rates near Mint, is super clean and glossy, pristine looking, is in very well cared for condition! PLAY TESTED, plays excellent from start to finish, a VERY enjoyable listen! The jacket rates EX/MINT-, is clean, still has deep color with no ringwear, edges are EX and are solid, no splits, the binder edge is EX and readable, no signatures (see photo), includes vintage plastic bag inner sleeve!
Will be shipped in a protective plastic sleeve inside a secure record mailing box with tracking number. Vinyl will be shipped in sleeve outside cover to prevent cover splits.
