We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. BEAUTIFUL MINTY CLEAN....ORIGINAL 1970 first pressing in clean condition...sought collectible of thee UNDERGROUND sound.... sung supremely by Nancy Jeffries, whom adds that special spark to the whole affair ...A sought after item all 'round the universe, in its original form ~ here's a nice keeeper copy! Eclectic music to thee ears, mind and body indeed!

This second INSECT TRUST album is even better than their first...

Late 60's and early 70's pure underground band was called "The Insect Trust." Its most famous member was the noted writer, critic, and ethnomusicologist Robert Palmer. Two albums, Insect Trust (Capitol, 1968), and Hoboken Saturday Night (ATCO, 1970), were produced. The music ranges from surreal folk-rock, to underground rock/psych to flat-out free jazz. It is the latter style which is adopted on a song called "The Eyes of a New York Woman," sung by Nancy Jefferies and accompanied by a haunting descant recorder solo played in a true virtuoso style. The song's composers are listed as Jeff Ogden and Thomas Pynchon, and the lyrics are taken verbatim from V., where they are sung by Benny Profane as he, Angel, and Geronimo are trying to pick up some girls. When he sings his despairing song, all the girls can say is: "It doesn't have any beat". Fortunately, "The Insect Trust" version has a great beat. The whole piece is moody and lazy, just like a hot Hoboken Saturday night, and you are lost, perhaps, in the streets with the Whole Sick Crew, where "The eyes of a New York woman/ Are the twilit side of the moon."

They were often compared to San Fransisco bands such as the pioneering Jefferson Airplane, although this comparison really doesn’t do them justice. Hoboken Saturday Night, the band’s second effort usually gets the nod, or at least the most attention. Though it must be mentioned that most fans forget about their startling, groundbreaking first album.

Anyone who wonders what the hippie '60s were like--or could be like, with the arrant nonsense and obsessive back-biting avoided or suppressed--can find out from this true collective. Not the Beatles or the Stones--they were different, bigger and often better, mass culture. Hoboken Saturday Night -- the later and smaller and more pastoral and perfect album is more a the real hippie sixties...let it blow baby blow... hippie heads untouched by self-righteous sentimentality.

CONDITION: The cover: laminated cover is "M-" front (laminated!) and back cover is M- with NO delete marks! All snow white clean. Overall nice TOP LEVEL collectible thick cover!
