SCARCE MINTY CLEAN 1970 ORIGINAL
WILD WEEDS
\ USA - Vanguard Records - VSD 6552
Weedlemania!
SCARCE 1970 Original first pressing by hippie crew who, although remained obscure and issued but one very hard to dind Lp, were a joy to listen to within their own boundries...
The Wildweeds were a group from the Hartford Connecticut area fronted by Al Anderson who in 1967 had a hit with "No Good To Cry" (also covered by the Moving Sidewalks) on the Cadet label, a few more singles followed on Cadet, after which the group went through some personnel changes culminating with this self titled lp in 1970. Whereas the original Wildweeds' sound was more psychedelic/soul oriented, this album is a mix of electrified folk with ruralrock edges and strong song writing. Head Weed-meister AL Anderson would go on to join early NRBQ
