We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records.   Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.

We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday.   We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable.  We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

SCARCE 1972 vintage British pressing of the very first Gentle Giant...confusing as it is a completely different cover to the one titled 'Three Friends' in the USA...

Despite some dark passages, particularly the scathing "Mister Class And Quality?", "Three Friends" is an album better remembered for its sense of humor and arrangements that bring the phrase "an embarrassment of riches" to mind. As impressive a musical statement of direction as it is, building on the promise of earlier songs like "The House, The Street, The Room," "Three Friends" fails to make much of a social statement (a charge that could also be levelled against "The Power and The Glory"). In the final analysis, childhood is good and adulthood is bad; the artist, the laborer and the white-collar worker all get tarred with the same brush. Better to focus on the music: majestic, intricate, playful, grating, the sextet seems able to change gears on a whim, weaving Kerry Minnear's keyboards, Gary GREEN's guitars and Ray SHULMAN's bass into a vivid tapestry (e.g., "Three Friends"). Unlike a lot of progressive acts who were wont to combine complexity with brute force, GENTLE GIANT plays a gentle hand, letting the music speak for itself with humanity and (seeming) humility.

There are so many sublime moments on here -- the childlike break in the opening "Prologue" and the closing theme on "Three Friends" always come to mind -- you'll wonder why GENTLE GIANT never found the glories of success as with YES and ELP. If you're not familiar with "Three Friends", you owe it to yourself to make its acquaintance.

CONDITION: The cover is a fragile gatefold and while it was well taken care of, it came into contact with moisture at one time...still stiff all over (not any soft area) but has slight uneveness (just slightly, nothing bad and actually in a collection you can not really tell when thumbing through your records) and also light brownish water mark at bottom left corner and inside gatefold at edges (not on front or back except for the one left corner which is very light), hence the VG (+) grade and otherwise, bright original colors, no split seams, no writing and servicable as collector rarity from 1972 England.

The vinyl is all glossy clean and clear M- looking and playing TOP level...the Vertigo labels are both VERY clean...
