For auction today:  Mac II. On Audico. Cat # YPRX 1044, an EMI Custom Pressing.

Duo (Russell McDougall and Iain McLennan) perform 12 tracks of downer vibe folk on this lp from 1972. Acoustic guitar and electric bass. One of Australia;s rarest lp's, IMO, and in top condition. The track Lalena, for example has lyrics about getting angry with her and throwing her out in the rain. Lyrics also talk about how we kill our children, we take their arms, their legs, their mouths, their eyes and not wanting to fight in the "bloody war" etc.... Crazyness! Most other tracks are more sobre.

Cover has foxing evident on both sides. On front cover, it's only when angled towards the light.

A little background and commentary: The only copy I have seen for sale anywhere was on ebay in 2008. It went for $49.00. I know at least 2 people who think that was heavily underpriced. I think it;s a good lp, if a tad spare-sounding but the lyrics, nice melodies and dark moody atmosphere make up for that, so then, if the seller was willing to let it go for $49, that's up to him of course, but me? I wouldn;t let this go for less than $350.00. That's an arbitrary figure I feel comfortable with but might be worth $1000+ to someone out there? Worth every cent musically and for bragging rights too. But ebay members will decide all this, in the end.
As per my photo/info contributions that got published in the 6001 book, I'll suggest this one to Hans with a photo and suggest a 6 star rarity-rating, should he release a 7001 RCD book. That;s my honest perspective on the matter.
