1978 7"EP WAX RECORDS EAR-1
MADE IN ENGLAND ORIGINAL PRESSING
LIMITED EDITION OF 1000 COPIES
The sleeve and the labels were stamped - that's why variations exist.
This was one of the first releases on Wax, and later re-issued when it became
a collectable punk single on Gecko (label owned by of Wax).
NOTES:
1) Rubber-stamp plain white folded or properly glued sleeve.
2) Plain or rubber-stamp labels
3) The band were not happy with the muddy sound of the EP, resulting in the preparation of a remastered version which did not proceed beyond the test pressing stage; the original mastering was made by CRS sporting Matrix No. EAR1A/EAR1B and has "CRS" etched into the runout grooves on both sides, whereas the re-cut test pressings (the song are much louder and have a much sharper sound) were done by "Tape One" with Matrix No. EAR+1+A2/EAR+1+B2 and have "Mean machine" etched into the runout groove of the B-side. the band wanted to withdraw the EP and go on with the second cut but it was too late as the 1000 copies of the 7" had already been pressed...(from Mario Panciera "(1976/1979) 45 Revolutions" book)
