ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK

 

   

Up for auction is this original vintage release of the Mad Max 2 soundtrack, composed by Brian May and released by That's Entertainment records in 1982.

Evocative and fully orchestrated thematic score from Australia's prime movie composer. Mad Max 2 has a thunderous main theme, some what akin to Holst's the Planets, while injecting rampaging drum beats during dramatic scenes it also features a slower, softer movement in strings reflecting the loss of a nuclear apocalypse. This soundtrack also includes classic lines interspersed within the tracks, including the Gyro Captain screaming 'Partners!' as Max brings the Mack Truck to life.

Long deleted and now very collectible this album is in good condition for it's age. The cover is sharp with little colour fade, but does have some minor creases at the edges and corners, but is free from any sticker labels or inscriptions. Cover features some great film stills some I've never seen before.

The Record itself is in very good condtion, still with original sleeve. Record surface appears to be free of any major deep scratches, but this record has been played and certainly not mint, but still in very good clean condition. I have noticed there is a small rub on side 1, pictured below, about halfway through track 3 and 4. It does not appear to be deep and may possibly just be some sort of build up or deposit, but I have not attempted to clean it or remove it, and rather leave it to someone more knowledgeable with vinyl. I have not played this record in decades, so cannot confirm it is fault free but it had no jumps or clicks when I orignally purchased it and appears in good visible condition.

Originally part of my own collection, but I no longer have a record player and time to make some room.
