Description

The heavy metal band Madam X formed in the early 80s by the Petrucci sisters Maxine and Roxy. They hired a male singer and a male bass player, as that co-ed idea hadn't really been done before in a metal band. Madam X had both the look AND the sound, and quickly got signed by Jet Records (Ozzy's label at the time, and founded by Sharon Osbourne's father Don Arden). The band released their debut album FORTY years ago, in 1984. And it was produced by Rick Derringer (guitar player in the Edgar Winter group, then a solo artist with hits like "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo").

I was working at my college's radio station at the time, and was lucky enough to be able to interview Madam X, as they played a local nightclub a couple of times before the album came out. The guys (and girls) in the band were great, and it was a blast getting to hang with them for a bit. Live, they played a lot of Sabbath, Judas Priest, Accept, and other heavy songs, along with a few originals.

Their drummer Roxy Petrucci left Madam X in '86 to join the all female hair metal group Vixen, but has bounced back and forth between Vixen and Madam X since the 80s! Sebastian Bach even joined Madam X as the lead singer for a while, before joining Skid Row. The core four, singer Bret Kaiser, bassist Chris "Godzilla" Doliber, guitar enchantress Maxine Petrucci, and drummer Roxy Petrucci are the band members who were there in the early days, and are currently in Madam X right now. They released their latest studio album in 2017, (titled 'Monstrosity')

In today's rock-your-socks-off good deal, you'll get a copy off that debut Madam X album from 1984, plus a special BONUS shaped picture disc for the track (that is also a wild video) "High in High School"! Both are celebrating forty years this year. The shaped pic disc has the track "Metal in my Veins" on the B side. The A side is a guitar and a garter belt, as Maxine plays the guitar (and has some of the longest fingers I've ever seen! Maybe that's why she shreds...)!

The vinyl itself for the LP looks new, and is still all shiny and clean. The jacket is showing its age a bit, but nothing too bad. Original inner inlay in great condition, as well. A sweet 80s metal collectible, as these have been LONG out of print! And there was an EXTREMELY limited number of the shaped pic disc made, so that's also very cool to have! Rock out with Madam X and their vintage forty year old jams! They reserve the right to rock, ya know!
