Description
This is a Genuine MADNESS 'Pakamac'.
It was made by Pakamac of Middleton, Manchester and the coat itself was a 60's and 70's icon - a forerunner to the kagoule.
This Pakamac was made in a very limited quantity to accompany the release of The Sun and The Rain in 1983. I believe (could be wrong) that macs like this were in the video.
The most basic versions of the Pakamac are occasionally available on ebay or from specialist retro clothing shops.
I won the item in a 'Record Mirror' (remember that ?) competition. It's only been out of the bag for these photos since.
I have never seen one anywhere else and enquiries about it at record fairs and with collectors have led nowhere, hence the reserve.
This would be a great addition to a MADNESS collection.
