MAGNA CARTA In Concert (Vertigo 6360 068) RARE Original UK 1st Pressing Swirl MINT
RARE original UK first pressing of "In Concert" by Magna Carta, on Vertigo Records (1972).
Recorded immediately after the release of the seminal "Songs From Wasties Orchard" at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, "In Concert" features the original duo of Chris Simpson and Glen Stuart, here more than ably backed by second guitarist Davey Johnstone (Elton John). "One of the most atmospheric concert recordings of its age", says allmusic.com
GRADING:
MINT- COVER. Near-perfect gatefold sleeve with nary a sign of wear. Please see photos for details.
Custom-printed Vertigo Records inner sleeve not included, sorry.
MINT- RECORD, practically perfect. The record has a tiny little scratch (1mm; in the track "Seven O`Clock/Midwinter") that is barely audible. Otherwise absolutely pristine.
The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "1 Y//1" and "2 Y//1", respectively. This clearly indicates that the record is a very first UK pressing!
PLEASE NOTE: Over the next few months, we will regularly be offering a number of rarities, mainly progressive and avantgarde records: A very discerning, long-time collector friend left us his treasure chest! Not only are many of these lps extremely rare, they are almost all in MINT(-) condition - both inside and out.
As we slowly inch closer to springtime, we will be spreading the goodies out, in no special order. Suffice to say that the best is still to come!
