Description
Here is the very rare debut LP from San Francisco based band Mal. It was self-released in 1981 on Physiocrat Productions. This was actually a one-man band; Mike Lucas (later in the Phantom Surfers) wrote and played most of the music. And what wonderfully deranged, over-the-top, gothic, evil music it is! Loads of synths and electronics, anguished and angry and sinister vocals, noisy stabs of guitars, and just an all-around evil atmosphere, this is a masterpiece of darkness (yet still somehow quite tongue-in-cheek!). There is something for minimal synth fans, a couple great noisy Birthday Party-esque tracks, and a few great gloomy epics. You really do not want to pass up this one. The cover is NM, still in shrink, with just a few tiny corner dings; the vinyl is NM with only some very faint surface marks.
The songs are:
A1 Murder In Paradise
A2 Student Of Prague
A3 A Manual Of Human Dissection
A4 Seven Minutes To Midnight
B1 Gates Of Hell
B2 Reborn In Sin
B3 Camera Obscura
B4 Ruthefurd's Lament
B5 Camera Obscura [Reprisal]
