Having been at the heart of the punk movement back in the 70, artist Mal-One is well placed to cast his eye over history, and add a bit of tinsel for good measure. The Punk scene wasn't just about upsetting the establishment, and swindling record companies, there was a kind-hearted nature to it, despite what the outraged tabloids might have been yelling from their front pages. The two songs that grace this EP celebrate that side of both The Clash and The Sex Pistols with typically old-school charm.
Punky Rocking Xmas takes a look at the Christmas of 1979, when The Clash played two affordable shows at Acklam Hall for locals, because as Mick Jones noted for most people over Christmas "there's nothing to do". Christmas In Huddersfield meanwhile celebrates the 1977 Sex Pistols benefit shows. They were both on Christmas Day and were a benefit for the children of striking fire fighters. The first show acted as a party for the kids and ended with a food fight. Both shows are commemorated by Mal-One in typically punky form, with, naturally Dub heavy re-workings. Ho Ho Ho.
